In this training session, firefighters focus on the critical importance of the Rapid Intervention
Crew (RIC), also known as a Rapid Intervention Group (RIG) or Team (RIT). This specially
trained and equipped team stands ready during firefighting operations to ensure the safety of
their colleagues by quickly and effectively rescuing any firefighters who may become lost,
trapped, or injured at a fire scene. Firefighter Cardona demonstrates the intricacies of the
rescue pack, highlighting its numerous connections and points of access while using Firefighter
Medina to simulate a scenario requiring intervention. This hands-on training reinforces the vital
